A friend just sent me to Steep and Cheap which is a Woot style site that sells ski gear for super cheap. The deal is they only sell one thing at a time, then once it's gone it's gone. So you really have to be in a spending mood, or be a really bad impulse buyer to make this work for you. I usually check these sites once in a while for awesome deals. Today for instance I bought a Roomba (from woot) for $150, which is a little more than half price.

Katherine started blogging for her work on a blog called Citizen Rain. It's an aggregate of a bunch of the local Seattle blogs. Kind of a one stop shop for what's going on around this great rainy city. It's really well put together and since the contributors are all journalists the writing's great too. It's part cool content from around the City and part new content of what the contributors think is cool.

My boss, Jason, has finally started a blog, it's called "The Good Life" and can be found at http://jtaylorgoodlife.blogspot.com/. Well most of the way. This is pretty much just a temporary blogging back end (thanks blogger) so I can tell the world about all the neat things that I've found in my aimless meandering around the wasteland we call the internet. I'm just happy there's something here. I'm rewriting the real whoisjoe from the ground up; including one of the coolest (and most secure) authentication mechanisms the world has ever seen!

• Unintentionally funny comic book panels - A collection of very funny comic book panels that will make you feel bad about your sick, sick mind.
• Song Slide - This is one of the coolest models for buying music I have ever seen. You get to pick the amount you want to give to your favorite artist or band and you get to immediately see how much the band will actually get from your purchase price. This link goes to my friend's band (dirty dale) so you can play around with the sliders.
• Montana Meth Project - Montana actually has a pretty serious meth problem. This is a privately funded project to help kids understand the risks involved. The project's ads are amazingly powerful and seem to be doing their job very well as meth usage in Montana has been dropping.
• Microsoft Photosynth - An amazing piece of software from Microsoft that allows you to build 3D scenes by automatically stitching together many 2D pictures. From their site: "Our software takes a large collection of photos of a place or an object, analyzes them for similarities, and then displays the photos in a reconstructed three-dimensional space, showing you how each one relates to the next."
• The Hardest Mario Bros. Level in the History of Mankind - The video is really cool because it's amazingly difficult, but the guy playing is possibly the funniest man ever to exist in the world. If there aren't tears running down your face by the end of this video e-mail me and I'll send you (free of charge) one, working, sense of humor. Warning: Very strong language, listen with headphones.
• Is Your Son a Computer Hacker? - A very concerned parent writes into adequacy.org to help other parents know if they have a hacker on their hands. He gives some exceptionally funny things to lookout for such as wanting to move away from AOL, asking for new hardware, spending more than 30 minutes per day on the computer, playing Quake, or using the illegal operating system Lunix. Lookout!
